The project
Chad Zhang (PhD), founder and Managing Director of BioToolomics, has extensive academic and industrial experience of chromatography systems used in the purification of biopharmaceuticals. When he decided to set up his company to exploit his novel ideas, he commissioned CBSL to provide expert guidance and support.
CBSL has supported Dr Zhang with intellectual property management through to business planning and fund raising. Subsequently CBSL has leveraged finance from both public and private sources. Initially this was in the form of grants and proof of concept funds required to prove and exemplify his technology. Latterly it has been to access significant funds to facilitate major product launches. In addition, CBSL has provided access to specialist design services to further enhance his products.
Working with Dr Zhang, CBSL identified the routes to market to successfully exploit his novel technology.
We have also enhanced Biotoolomics’ business planning processes so that their ideas are captured in a way that is attractive to investors.

Although Dr Zhang is an accomplished scientist with extensive commercial experience, CBSL was able to work with him to add value to his unique business proposition.
The CBSL team has extensive expertise in assisting start up companies. This practical assistance includes writing and reviewing business plans, assessing funding and grant applications and raising public and private early stage finance.
CBSL has extensive knowledge and connectivity within the bioprocessing sector. Using these skills, CBSL assisted Biotoolomics to successfully position their products in the market place and attract new customers.
